Helping After Hurricane Harvey

In General

In response to the destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey, concerned residents of Southeast Michigan are looking for ways to provide charitable support to those living in the affected areas. Listed below are Hurricane Harvey disaster relief funds created at three separate local community foundations. All contributions to the disaster funds are tax-deductible.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner has established the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund at the Greater Houston Community Foundation, which is accepting donations via credit card directly. You can also make a grant from your donor advised fund at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. The Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund will directly assist victims affected by the floods.

The Disaster Relief Fund at the Community Foundation of Southwest Louisiana will assist nonprofit organizations working to provide shelter, food, water, and other necessities to residents of Southwest Louisiana.

Activated by the Mayor of New Orleans in partnership with the Greater New Orleans Foundation, the NOLA Pay It Forward Fund: Hurricane Harvey will provide resources for the early relief and rebuilding efforts of those communities impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

Other local and national agencies involved in the response include:
