Leaders from business, government, philanthropy in southeast Michigan unite to launch Detroit Regional Workforce Partnership, with initial $3M investment, systems change expert at the helm

A coalition of leaders spanning business, government and philanthropy throughout Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties has united to launch the Detroit Regional Workforce Partnership, an initiative designed to create an equitable, future-facing talent pipeline that will support a thriving economy in southeast Michigan. The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation has provided initial funding, with a total of $3 million committed over three years.

Executive Director Jayme Powell served as a panelist at the 31st Annual Automotive Insights Symposium, hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. The discussion focused on innovative strategies employers are using to tackle auto affordability as a barrier to workforce participation.

Overcoming the talent crisis requires cohesive, equitable investments in the people and systems that already exist in southeast Michigan. New Detroit Regional Workforce Partnership aims to retain talent in Michigan

The Detroit Regional Workforce Partnership, backed by a $3M grant from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, aims to attract and retain talent in Southeast Michigan. Led by Jayme Powell and managed by the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, the employer-driven initiative strengthens regional workforce development efforts.

PEER Academy Cohort Participants Announced

Brianna Brazell, Senior Director of Strategy and Operations at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan – Detroit Regional Workforce Partnership, has been selected for the inaugural PEER Academy cohort. Led by the Corporation for a Skilled Workforce and NYATEP, the academy equips workforce leaders with labor market data skills to enhance program development and industry engagement.
