Pontiac Capacity Building Grant Application


The Pontiac Capacity Building program provides grants to civic, community, and nonprofit organizations in Pontiac.

The program is supported by the Pontiac Funders Collaborative, administered by the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.

This program includes three categories of grant opportunities:

  1. Professional Leadership Development: Support for individuals working in civic, nonprofit or community organizations to participate in professional development activities. Grant Amount: $2,500 – $5,000.
  2. Organizational Development: Support for small and mid-size nonprofit organizations seeking to improve their capacity to better serve the community in one or more of the following areas: Operations; Funding & Resources; Organizational Culture; Strategy & Planning; Program Management & Evaluation; Leadership & Governance. Grant Amount: $10,000.
  3. Collaboration Development: Support for small to mid-size nonprofits to work together more effectively. Grant Amount: $15,000.

As part of their grant award, all grantees will have access to a list of technical assistance providers; have the opportunity to join a learning and networking cohort with other grantees; and will have access to the Michigan Nonprofit Association’s free nonprofit assessment tool, which can help organizations identify areas for strengthening.

Timeline:

  • August 15: Applications open.
  • August 29, 12 – 1 p.m.: Virtual Information Session (View Recording)
  • September 2: Deadline to register in FLUXX.
  • August 15 – September 12: Optional one-on-one application assistance available by appointment.
  • September 12: Deadline to apply. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on September 12.
  • November 11: Grantee award and decline notifications will be sent.
  • November 11 – December 12: Optional one-on-one application debrief available by appointment.
