HOPE Fund Grants

The HOPE Fund (Helping Others through Partnerships and Education) was created to strengthen organizations and projects that support LGBTQ+ individuals and families, through targeted grantmaking, projects and technical assistance.

The HOPE Fund provides grants and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations serving local LGBTQ+ communities in Southeast Michigan. The Fund will consider applications from either LGBTQ+ -specific nonprofit agencies or nonprofit agencies that have a broader mission but are meaningfully serving the LGBTQ+ community in some way.

The Community Foundation is excited to kick off its 2026 HOPE Fund grant opportunity with a few updates to its grantmaking guidelines, including an invited process, and an increased grant range.

  • The HOPE Fund will now accept grant requests from $5,000 up to a maximum of $50,000, during one application cycle per year.
  • The HOPE application cycle typically takes place in the spring, with grant decisions announced in the Fall.
  • Due to the volume of requests, the HOPE Fund is no longer accepting application requests for the current 2026 application cycle. However, if you are interested in viewing the grant guidelines, or would like to connect with a Program Officer about a future application, please reach out to [email protected].
