Reginald Turner set to become president of American Bar Association in 2021 Crain's Detroit Business

Reginald Turner, Vice Chair of the Community Foundation Board of Trustees, will become president of the American Bar Association next year.

Turner  who has served on our Board of Trustees for over 14 years, currently as Vice Chair — is one of many shining examples of leadership on our Board of Trustees.

Beyond his work as Vice Chair of the Community Foundation Board of Trustees, Turner works as an attorney and is an executive board member at Clark Hill PLC, an international, full-service law firm ranking as one of the 100 largest in the U.S. He has been identified by Michigan Lawyers Weekly and Best Lawyers as a Lawyer of the Year. In addition to Clark Hill, Turner also sits on the boards of Comerica Inc. and Masco Corp.

Turner served as a White House Fellow under President Bill Clinton, and worked for U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretaries Henry Cisneros and Andrew Cuomo. He has also had gubernatorial, mayoral and county executive appointments in Michigan.

He has served on the boards of the Detroit Public Safety Foundation, the Hudson-Webber Foundation, United Way for Southeastern Michigan, and the Detroit Institute of Arts.

The ABA is our collective commitment to fulfill the lawyer’s oath.”
