As a student, Harmony was aware of the inequities surrounding education from firsthand experience. But at 16, her high school was awarded a grant from the Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council that she co-wrote to complete social justice planning. Fast forward to 2020, when Harmony joined the Community Foundation as a Program Associate with a portfolio focused on youth initiatives which includes leading the Youth Advisory Council, Detroit Auto Dealer’s Association, the Ray Smith Fund, Detroit Journalism Engagement Fund, and all general grantmaking for youth K-12. From a youth leader to an adult ally, Harmony is committed to empower and increase youth voice and leadership through her work with the Community Foundation.
