Community Foundation names new board member

The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan is pleased to welcome Mark Davidoff as its newest board member.

“We are honored that Mark is willing to lend his extensive experience by joining the Community Foundation Board of Trustees,” says Mariam Noland, president, Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. “His passion for philanthropy and community development, combined with his strategic expertise, will be tremendous assets to the growth of the Community Foundation.”

Davidoff currently serves as the President and CEO of The Fisher Group, the central office of the family of Max M. Fisher. In this role, Mark oversees strategy, operations and investments for one of Detroit’s most prominent families.

Previously, Mark served as Deloitte’s Michigan Managing Partner, working as the firm’s top leader in the state, overseeing more than 1,200 professionals and responsible for strategy, operations, talent, and business development.

Before his tenure at Deloitte, Mark served in various leadership roles over an 18-year period, in the health care and nonprofit sectors at Henry Ford Health System, Mercy Health Services and the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.

Mark currently serves as the Chair of the Board of both the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Michigan Israel Business Accelerator. Among other past roles, Mark previously served as Chair of the Board of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Chair of the Mackinac Policy Conference in 2015.

Mark’s commitment to community has been noted through various recognitions, including the prestigious Michiganian of The Year Award presented by the Detroit News, which he was awarded in 2016.

Mark maintains a passion for leveraging the unique learnings found in the country of Israel related to innovation and entrepreneurship and has curated and led over 70 missions to Israel with governmental, corporate and community leadership, including three Michigan Governors, over 50 leaders from Michigan’s Legislature, and approximately 150 leaders from across Michigan since 2015.

Mark is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Wayne State University and a master’s in management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan is a full-service philanthropic organization leading the way to positive change in our region. As a permanent community endowment built by gifts from thousands of individuals and organizations, the Foundation supports a wide variety of activities benefiting education, arts and culture, health, human services, community development, and civic affairs. Since its inception, the Foundation has distributed more than $1.1 billion through more than 74,000 grants to nonprofit organizations throughout Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Washtenaw, St. Clair, and Livingston counties.
