New Sprout City play area blooms in Palmer Park The Times Herald

The chime of small bells filled the air and streams of bubbles floated off into the distance. Children pedaled tricycles along a track surrounding a miniature town.

At Palmer Park, scores of local children set to breaking in the new Sprout City play area following a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday.

The project was sponsored by The Walt Disney Company, Blue Water Habitat for Humanity, National Recreation and Park Association, Port Huron Host Lions Club, Bluewater Free Methodist Church, Chemical Bank and the Stebbins Family Fund at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. Volunteers worked through the winter to get Sprout City ready to go.
