Detroit is helping to lead the way on a new model for the early childhood learning program Head Start. Officials say just two years into a five-year pilot program, the new model is proving successful enough to expand its reach. Katie Brisson is Vice President of Programs for The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. Doctor Nolana Nobles-Bandy is Assistant Director of Matrix Head Start. They spoke with WDET’s Amy Miller about the Innovation Fund Pilot Program and its success. Brisson says after two years, the revamped program is proving successful enough to expand.
