The Great Lakes Way, an initiative of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, will receive a $250,000 grant from the DTE Energy Foundation for Earth Day, Crain’s Detroit Business reports.
The funds are part of a $1.48 million commitment the Detroit utility’s philanthropic arm is making to organizations throughout Michigan that protect rivers, trees, and wildlife habitats.
The Great Lakes Way will be an interconnected set of 156 miles of blueways and 160 miles of greenways stretching from southern Lake Huron through western Lake Erie.
